Youth Makes a Difference Eyeglass program!

 

Ian is twelve years old and a seventh grader at Holmes Middle School in Livonia, Michigan. As part of the Youth Makes a Difference program at his elementary school, he started collecting eyeglasses for the AAA Sight Night program at age six.

 

The eyeglasses are collected and recycled by Lens Crafters, AAA and the Lions Club. Some people who receive this eye wear may now be able to work or see the board in school because of their improved eyesight. 

 

According to the World Health Organization, 250 million of the people in the world need corrective eye wear. But many people, especially those in developing countries, do not have access to eye care or eye wear.  It is truly a gift of sight!
